OnePlus is working on AI-powered voice recording feature
OnePlus has included AI features in almost all of its earlier devices, and this time, it is rolling out some new features in its upcoming devices. This new feature will allow the creation of text summaries from voice recordings, which will save the user a lot of time.
This feature can also be seen in the latest version of the new OxygenOS 15, which will also be available in Android 15.
It also supports many other audio formats. However, this feature is not visible and is expected to be available through the beta program. In the future, this feature will be seen in India and some other countries. It has been claimed that this feature can be launched first in a string of code.
It is worth nothing which OnePlus model this feature will be available in. Android has already rolled out the under-development feature on OxygenOS 14.1, but some smartphone makers are working on a sound recorder.
It may be a bit difficult to provide this feature in older models, but the company revealed earlier this year that the feature can be seen on the OnePlus 12 and the OnePlus Open.
The AI Voice recording summary feature will support multiple audio file formats, including MP3, AMR, AWB, AAC and WAV, as seen in the string “convert_error_format”, which makes it clear that this feature will be available in the device soon.
The report mentions three languages: Chinese, Hindi, and English. The AI Voice recording summary feature can be seen first in China, India, and the US.
It is expected that file size of the recording should be less than 500MB, and the recording length should be less than 5 hours. Very short voice recordings are expected to be unable to create tasks that can be initiated by the user. This feature can be seen on Android 15 through the string.

OnePlus will launch the OnePlus Open 2 smartphones globally. These devices, which will be available in the domestic market in the first quarter of 2025, will feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Tipster Digital Chat Station posted information about these devices on Weibo.
According to Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus Open 2 design is similar to that of the previous generation Find N3. It will have a large circular camera module at the back, but its screen size has been increased. However, the size of the screen has not been revealed yet. The internal screen of this device can support 2K+ resolution.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset can be used in the OnePlus Open 2, which will be the world’s first foldable phone to use this chipset. This upcoming N5 is rumored to feature a dual-cell battery of 2460 mAh + 3105 mAh and is also expected to offer a rated capacity of 5,565 mAh. There is no information on the device’s wired charging capabilities.
It is also rumored that the upcoming device will get wireless charging support. Earlier, Oppo confirmed that the Find N5 will also feature magnetic wireless charging. The upcoming OnePlus Open 2 may also feature a Hasselblad customized camera system with a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
Previous leaks suggested that the OnePlus Pad 2 will be slim and may measure around 9mm, making up for this sleek profile; the company may also include a custom-made slim USB-C port. The upcoming Find N5 will be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 in markets like India, Europe, and the US, but this has yet to be officially confirmed.
