With the introduction of Android 14 by Google, several smartphone brands, including OnePlus, have been in the race to push the latest update to their respective devices. At the same time, over the past few weeks, OnePlus has been pushing its latest Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 update to a number of its eligible devices; even several smartphones have already received the latest OxygenOS 14 update. In contrast, the latest OxygenOS 14 firmware update includes numerous features and enhancements. However, several users are still experiencing a few bugs and glitches within the latest update and wish to downgrade from the Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 to OxygenOS 13.

As mentioned, the latest OxygenOS 14, which is based on Android 14, is significantly packed with a number of new features and enhancements for a more intuitive and user-friendly OS experience, but there are a few users who have reported that they have been experiencing some bugs and glitches soon after installing the latest OxygenOS 14 firmware update on their OnePlus smartphones, which is certainly preventing them from using their devices as per expectations, and that situation becomes very annoying.

How do I downgrade from the Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 to the OxygenOS 13 update?

Simultaneously, with certain issues like lagging, system crashes, and other bugs, several OnePlus users would certainly wish to downgrade their devices from the Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 version to the much better and more stable firmware version, OxygenOS 13. Do note that downgrading will significantly wipe out all your data from your device, so it’s highly recommended that you create a safe backup of all your data on another device. On the flip side, through the simple steps mentioned below, you can easily downgrade your OnePlus device from OxygenOS 14 to OxygenOS 13:

how to turn off floating window screenshot preview in OnePlus Devices

If you capture a screenshot on a OnePlus device, it displays a small thumbnail preview floating window of the screenshot in the bottom-right corner or left corner.

This screenshot remains on the screen for a few seconds before saving to the floating window, letting the user know what has been captured on the device.

However, the brand has also revealed many changes made to the device before this. At the same time, it creates a delay in going to the screenshot preview floating window.

If you have to take multiple screenshots one after the other, you have to wait for the preview floating window to disappear to prevent them from appearing in the subsequence screenshots.

To eliminate this delay, OnePlus has introduced Screenshot Preview Floating Window with OxygenOS 12, which helps you quickly edit screenshots as soon as you capture them, take long screenshots and share them. You can follow a few steps to edit your screenshots:-

  • Mark up the image with a coloured pen.
  • Pixelate the image.
  • Translate text.
  • Crop the image.
  • Tap more editing options to access tools like watermarks, filters, colour rebalancing, stickers, etc.

This can slow down your ability to take screenshots continuously, but it’s easy to disable it on OnePlus devices with OxygenOS 14. To do this, follow these steps on your device –

  • Disable the screenshot preview floating window on OnePlus devices.
  • Open the settings app.
  • Scroll down and tap Additionally settings.
  • Tap screenshots.
  • Toggle the screenshot preview floating window switch off.
