OxygenOS 14 Hidden Features: Dive into the Depths of Your OnePlus Device with These Secret Features
![OxygenOS 14 Hidden Features](https://opupdate.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/OxygenOS-14.webp)
Android 14 has been released after much testing and a lot of customizations as well as modification options on the Pixel devices. With that, it’s also rolled out for the OnePlus devices with OxygenOS 14 software. However, the OxygenOS 14, which is based on Android 14, has been considered as the biggest deal for the OnePlus users, primarily focusing on the performance and efficiency of the smartphones.
In the meantime, the OnePlus began the OxygenOS 14 stable rollout a few days back, and it’s said to have arrived with some of the best-in-class features and enhanced settings, including Global search, Smart cutout, File Dock, Carbon footprint AOD, Auto-pixelate 2.0, App-based languages, Lockscreen Shortcuts, unified security dashboard and more.
As the OxygenOS 14 stable version is finally here, in this article, we have got you some of the 10 best features that are somewhere hidden and that you guys might need to know about if you own a OnePlus device.
Global Search
This is the feature we usually see on the iPhone, which is a very simple feature yet probably the best feature that has now been included on Android devices as well. Earlier, with Android 13, the Global Search feature was present within the settings, but now, with the Android 14 update, you will see a small search icon on your OnePlus Home Screen, and by tapping on it, you will be automatically redirected to the Global Search page. It’s that simple and quick.
File Dock
Yet another feature is File Dock, which is basically an extension of a smart sidebar feature that came with Android 13. So now, with the Android 14 stable update, users can easily use the File Dock feature as a clipboard to save any text and add any file to the File Dock. For that, simply drag and drop it to the File Dock.
Smart Cutout
The Smart Cutout feature is not so new, as it has been easily seen on iPhones for years now, and now, with the OxygenOS 14 update, OnePlus users will be able to take advantage of this feature on their OnePlus devices.
Auto-pixelate 2.0
With the Auto-pixelate 2.0 feature, you will be easily able to hide sensitive information on your photo or a screenshot once you hit the edit button. To do so, head to your gallery, tap on the picture or screenshot whose sensitive information you need to hide, hit the edit button sli, go towards the auto pixelate option and tap on it. Tap the auto button right there to see that all your sensitive information has been hidden automatically. However, if the feature doesn’t work on its own, you can also hide the sensitive information from the photo manually.
OxygenOS dynamic island
Everyone knows that Apple has launched its iPhone 14 Pro with a new dynamic island, and with that, most Android makers have been planning to get this intuitive functionality on their respective devices as well. However, none of them have been successful, but by far, the most successful implementation of the dynamic island on any Android smartphone is on the latest OxygenOS 14 update. There’s not any exact method to trigger it, but if you have set a timer, then by long-pressing on the pill-shaped button, you will be able to see your timer on the top of your smartphone’s screen.
Carbon Footprint AOD:
With OxygenOS 14, a new AOD has been added, which significantly encourages you to walk and, in turn, reduces your carbon footprint. This AOD tracks your carbon footsteps and then shows the corresponding reduction in carbon emission.
Lock Screen Shortcuts
The Lock Screen Shortcuts are now finally available with the OxygenOS 14, which was not there within the OxygenOS 13 update. So now, with the latest update, users will be able to add other shortcut options on their smartphone’s lock screen. Not only the Google Assistant, you will have other shortcut options, including Torch, Snapchat, QR code, and none to choose from.
App-specific refresh rate
It was noticed that with the older OxygenOS versions, there are a number of applications that have reached their maximum refresh rate of only 60Hz, but being the flagship smartphone, including the OnePlus, which has a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, the applications were only supporting a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz. Now, with the latest OxygenOS 14 update, users will be able to set any specific app’s refresh rate to 120Hz. In other words, the latest update allows apps to forcefully run on the maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, which was earlier not supporting the 120Hz refresh rate.
App-based languages
This feature offers the ability to set different languages for separate apps. So, if your smartphone’s language is set to English by default, and you wish to change the language of any particular app, you can change it with the OxygenOS 14 update. However, it’s worth noting that not all the applications have App-based language feature support, and now only some Google apps and a few third-party apps have this support.
Unified security dashboard
With OxygenOS 14, all your security, as well as security features, are now organized within a single unified dashboard. Entering your smartphone’s Settings, then under the Security and Privacy settings, users will now be able to access their device’s App security, lock settings, Google account security settings, system and update settings, and other privacy settings all at a single place.
In addition, the Security and Privacy tab also detects some potential risks within an app, such as malware or any malicious activity going on in the device.
